Espacios de trabajo

Eulàlia Valldossera

This is the second catalogue we designed for Eulàlia Valldosera, in this case for an exhibition held at Zaragoza’s Sala Luzán. We used the same approach first applied in the catalogue for Father and Mother, an exhibition held in Girona. In each case, we organised the information in a linear fashion to show all the successive elements that shaped the final work: documentation, sketches, reference texts, and the artist’s experiences. For this catalogue we designed and programmed a pixelated version of the Grotesque font, directly inspired by Times Screen, which was designed by Miquel Polidano and used in Father and Mother.

Father and Mother

Eulàlia Valldossera

In the communication material for the exhibition of Eulàlia Valldosera’s work in Girona, we used the same typography applied in the catalogue, which we felt had enough character to create an engaging and easily identifiable graphic code. The low-profile approach is intended to focus attention on the information while offering a visual clue (details of the artist’s documentation material) as to what visitors can expect to find.

Father and Mother

Eulàlia Valldossera

This is the first project we worked on with Eulàlia Valldosera. From this point, we developed an approach to organising information that would be reused in successive catalogues (Espacios de trabajo, El ombligo del mundo, and Dependencias). The goal is to show the full scope of the work, while giving equal importance to the creative process, documentation, and sources of inspiration. The catalogue Father and Mother focuses on two works: Història del Sol and Father and Mother. It starts by showing how Història del Sol was presented, and then traces the work back to its origins, moving from the material finally exhibited to sketches and sources of inspiration. The discourse then begins to move forward again towards the second work, looking at references and sources of inspiration, sketches, the construction process, and the end result: Father and Mother.
